What upcoming 2010 releases are you most eagerly anticipating?

So, which DVDs lined up for this year are you guys looking forward to the most? Any goodies awaiting us?
I myself am eagerly anticipating the following three:

THE BARBARIANS (1987) - this ultra-cool muscleman/adventure flick from the always reliable Ruggero Deodato is supposed to get an Italian release sometime next month and with an English audio option! Finally! I can't wait as this one is really a lot of fun!

SO SWEET, SO DEAD (1972) - sordid and stylish giallo classic with a great cast that includes Farley Granger, Sylva Koscina, Femi Benussi, Susan Scott, Luciano Rossi and numerous others. This one is being released by Camera Obscura. Hopefully they'll include the English dub and not just English subs (like they did with TERROR EXPRESS) because the classic line "I may be homosexual but I'm not homicidal" just won't be the same in Italian.

THE VISITOR (1979) - this horror flick featuring the amazing line-up of Mel Ferrer, Glenn Ford, Lance Henriksen, John Huston, Sam Peckinpah and Shelley Winters was announced by Code Red a long time ago but it seems to finally have come together and Code Red recently wrote on their blog that it will be out before the summer. These guys always make great DVDs so I'm sure it'll be worth the long wait. Really, really excited about this one!

Any other choices? Smile

I'm with you on SO SWEET SO DEAD Johan! Excellent giallo, can't wait to see it in a digital presentation. I've never dealt with Camera Obscura before...what are their releases like? Do you have a link at all for the disc?

RE: What upcoming 2010 releases are you most eagerly anticipating?

Is there a list online of titles that are coming out soon?

I agree with Johan and Steve on the forthcoming release of SO SWEET, SO DEAD which is a great little giallo with a wonderful cast and is actually entertaining to work out who the killer is. Plus plenty of nudity by Sylva Koscina, Femi Benussi and Susan Scott is never a bad thing.

I read that there is going to be a box set of previously unreleased (on DVD) and little seen Hammer films by Sony in April - just entitled HAMMER FILMS - and will feature: Never Take Candy from a Stranger (the UK release title was Never Take Sweets from a Stranger), The Snorkel, Maniac, Cash on Demand, Stop Me Before I Kill! (UK title The Full Treatment) and the long-awaited release of Joseph Losey’s These Are The Damned.

And even though it's only just been released to cinemas in France, I am looking forward to GAINSBOURG: VIE HEROIQUE - which will be coming out at some point during the year.

To be honest I don't know that much about them. They seem to be a pretty new company and I don't think they have a website but from what I've read, their releases have very good picture quality. I haven't picked up their TERROR EXPRESS disc, though, and I don't suppose I'm going to either since it only has English subs and not the outrageous English dubbing. Not that I mind seeing film in Italian but TERROR EXPRESS is a real trash classic and the racy English dubbing is part of what makes it so appealing to me - it's just not going to work in Italian for me.

That's what I'd like to know. I haven't found one but it would be really great. It can often be hard to keep track of new releases...

Look out for Arrow Films Day of the Dead on Blu Ray http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=20382 coming March 29th!

I've been doing a lot of work with them recently - exciting blu ray news will be revealed soon as well! I'm on the extra features very briefly discussing Day. Arrow have a lot of cool stuff upcoming, so you'll get a few exclusives from me!

We did an Italian Weekend of Terror in the summer and a Q & A with Ken Foree and Joe Pilato for the Dawn of the Dead Blu Ray release just before Xmas:
